Kitting Production Operations Manager

Job Summary: The Kitting Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing all kitting activities to meet business objectives. This position will be accountable for all aspects of daily onsite production performance and ensures goals and objectives are achieved in a cost-effective manner that’s consistent with customer and quality requirements.  The Kitting Operations Manager communicates with customers daily to provide updates, troubleshoot issues, and support service expectations. This position reports to the Director of Global Production and currently has five supervisors reporting to it.  

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure daily kitting production and quality goals are achieved.
  • Foster a productive, achievement-oriented, and profitable working environment for employees.
  • Address operational issues and concerns promptly and effectively.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain operational guidelines, training, and procedures for the kitting team.
  • Review operational processes to ensure alignment with the Quality Management System.
  • Oversee operational costs, operator efficiency, risk management, and audit activities.
  • Support interviewing, recruiting, onboarding, training, performance evaluations, promotions, and termination activities.
  • Determine staffing needs and manage work assignments and schedules for new and existing projects.
  • Ensure a safe, clean, and organized work environment that promotes employee safety and well-being.
  • Collaborate with the leadership team to address operational challenges and implement solutions.
  • Evaluate and recommend improvements to operational strategies and processes.
  • Coordinate with the Director of Global Production in planning, supervising, and executing daily operational activities.
  • Coordinate and oversee customer service operations to ensure high satisfaction levels.
  • Lead customer engagement meetings to build relationships and drive service improvements.
  • Communicate with clients to assess their needs, resolve issues, and ensure service expectations are met.
  • Track and report on the progress of weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual objectives.
  • Evaluate employee performance and identify staffing and training needs.
  • Plan weekly staffing needs with supervisors
  • Supervise, motivate, and support staff to achieve peak performance.
  • Coach and mentor both new and existing employees; recommend training programs and development techniques.
  • Analyze consumer behavior trends and adjust production planning accordingly.
  • Create, analyze, and interpret operational data and reports, sharing with management as needed.
  • Coordinate with Quality to support regular audits to ensure operations are functional, efficient, and compliant.
  • Ensure all employees follow company policies, procedures, and work instructions at all times.

Qualifications: 
  • 5+ years’ plant operations experience, working in afast-pacedenvironment with changing priorities  
  • Bachelor’s degree in operations management or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.  
  • Advanced knowledge and an understanding of concepts, principles, and technical capabilities to manage a wide variety of projects  
  • Demonstrated abilities in planning, delegation, communications, problem solving, and decision making.  
  • Demonstrated experience in cost reduction through process improvements, Continuous Improvement techniques, and project management.  
  • Extensive experience with multi-faceted, personalized customer support with high expectations for customer satisfaction  
  • Strongcommunication skills both verbal & written  
  • Excellent MS Office skills  
  • The ability to analyze shift or plant performance and provide supervisors with assessments of opportunity.  
  • Must be able to work flexible hours to cover shifts as needed  



Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting or operating within clinical trials or life sciences environments, including regulated processes and documentation.
  • Hands-on exposure to kitting, packaging, or assembly operations, particularly in high-mix, low-volume environments.
  • Background in pharmaceuticals, biotech, or medical devices is strongly preferred.
  • Direct involvement in ERP and/or MRP system implementation, optimization, or ongoing development.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate operational requirements into system workflows, reporting, and planning logic.
  • Experience working cross-functionally with IT, Quality, Supply Chain, and Operations during system rollouts or process change
  • Experience coordinating outbound shipping operations, both domestic and international, including carrier management, export documentation, and compliance requirements.
  •  Familiarity with shipping requirements for time-sensitive, temperature-controlled, or regulated materials is a plus.
